TechAMP is a DoD (IBAS) funded program developed with MIT and delivered at UMass Lowell—designed to prepare the next generation of manufacturing leaders.

Program Requirements

To participate in this program, you must have your manager/sponsoring executive complete an Employer Letter of Commitment (LOC). Students who enroll here will receive instructions on how to send this letter to their manager/sponsor via DocuSign.

The Learning Experience

Designed for working professionals who need flexible learning, the content [view detailed curriculum] is delivered through online lectures by MIT faculty and staff, interactive virtual simulations, and hands-on labs facilitated by experts at UMass Lowell.  

• Labs at UMass Lowell will take place on Wednesday, 3-6 pm, and Thursday, 3-6 pm. Total time commitment is estimated to be 10 -14 hours per week, including lab time.

The training program combines core manufacturing knowledge with advanced technical specialization and culminates in a capstone project where students solve a real-world business problem—delivering measurable impact.
