Summer Art Portfolio

Full course description

This Precollege Portfolio Program is a two-week summer initiative designed to introduce high school students to the creative process in a college environment. Successful students will create accomplished artworks suitable for a portfolio to advance to a college/university art program and will receive one (1) college credit.

Tuition, supplies, and lunch will be provided for all participating students; however, a $100 registration fee is required to secure your spot.

  • July 13 – 24, 2026
  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
  • 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
    • To start the day promptly, students should arrive by 8:50 AM
  • South Campus Dugan Hall B8 -   883 Broadway St. Lowell, MA

Additional Requirement - Letter of Reference

Please submit a letter of reference from someone you have worked with who can attest to your genuine interest. These letters should be sent to art@uml.edu.

Enrollment Instructions

  1. Click Enroll

  2. You’ll be prompted to register for an account. Fill out the name and email of the student attending, and then click Register New Account

  3. You'll be directed to a secure payment page to complete your payment

  4. Once you've paid, check the email inbox at the student's email address entered in step 2. You should have two (2) emails in your inbox from notifications@instructure.com (check your spam if you do not see these emails)
    • Complete your enrollment using the instructions contained in the email with the subject line: Next Steps: UML Summer Art Portfolio Enrollment 

    • Set up your password using the instructions contained in the email with the subject line: Complete Your Account Registration
