This course focuses on job stress in the nursing profession and its implications for nurse health, well-being, and work role functioning. The course examines common work-related stressors faced by nurses, the physical, psychological, and psychosocial effects of stress, and evidence-informed strategies to reduce and manage job-related stress. The content is relevant for nurses working across a variety of healthcare settings.
After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Identify potential work-related stressors in the nursing profession
- Describe physical, psychological, and psychosocial implications of job stress
- List at least three health benefits of reducing job stress
- Identify at least two coping mechanisms to alleviate job stress at the individual level
- Identify at least two organizational strategies to alleviate stress
- Identify resources available to assist in managing job-related stress
Learning activities include short videos, brief readings, and interactive knowledge checks. Participants can complete the course at their own pace, within 30 days.
The total estimated course time is approximately 2 hours.
